What is Body Talk Therapy?

Body Talk is a holistic healthcare system developed by Dr. John Veltheim that works with the body's innate ability to heal itself. It draws on principles from Western medicine, acupuncture, kinesiology, and consciousness studies to identify and address imbalances in the body's energy systems.

Practitioners use a form of biofeedback — light muscle testing — to identify which areas of the body are not communicating efficiently. By using light tapping over the head, heart, and abdomen, the session supports the body in re-establishing these connections.

Body Talk is used to address a wide range of concerns, including stress and anxiety, chronic pain, fatigue, digestive issues, hormonal imbalances, and emotional patterns that may be contributing to physical symptoms.

Body Talk Therapy at Health Matters

Marina Battaglia, our Body Talk practitioner, has over 17 years of experience and has been with Health Matters for 14 of them. Her background in massage therapy and bodywork gives her sessions a grounded, physically-informed approach alongside the energetic work of Body Talk.

Sessions are offered as a standalone therapy or alongside chiropractic care, massage therapy, or acupuncture for patients seeking a more integrative approach to their health.

Integration

Sessions last 45 to 60 minutes. Some people notice a shift during the session itself; others experience changes over the following days as the body continues to integrate the work.

What Body Talk Can Help With

Reduced stress response: patients often report feeling calmer and more grounded after sessions, with improved sleep and reduced reactivity to daily stressors.

Relief from physical symptoms: chronic pain, tension headaches, and fatigue are among the most common concerns addressed, with improvements typically emerging across multiple sessions.

Improved emotional clarity: Body Talk is frequently sought for anxiety, grief, and patterns of emotional dysregulation, with many patients finding it a useful complement to counselling or psychology.

BOOK TODAY

Body Talk

Bodytalk is a healthcare system which relies on the principal that the body is designed to heal itself. By using its own innate intelligence, the body works to maintain balance and healing throughout..

Bodytalk treats the bodymind as a whole rather than focusing on individual symptoms. Since the body is an energy source, there are times when lines of communication are blocked, hindering balance and healing. By focusing on the body’s priorities, the lines of communication between the brain and body begin to communicate more effectively, therefore restoring balance as well as aiding in healing.
